CEO Collectives

Exclusive leadership circles for CEOs who refuse to settle.
By invitation only.

Leading a company comes with pressures most people can't imagine. That's why you don't need more advice -- you need sharper peers.

Leadership TBD Peer Groups in Greenville, SC and Asheville,
NC are carefully curated communities for CEOs, founders, and business owners who are already accomplished—and still hungry.

These aren’t masterminds. They’re not networking groups. They’re high-trust, high-performance circles where serious leaders challenge each other to grow in ways they can’t alone.

If you're ready to be surrounded by peers who won't let you plateau -- this is your place.

Led by Joelle Thayer, successor to renowned leadership theorist Dr. Lee Thayer, each group is shaped by deep facilitation, bold thinking, and no-nonsense standards for who’s in the room.

The Right Group for the Challenges You're Facing

A Program Built for Today's Increasingly Complex, Fast-Changing World

Not every group is worth walking into.

These groups are designed to match not just where your business is—but where you are as a leader.

We offer three invitation-only peer groups for leaders who meet specific business and leadership criteria. If you’re unsure where you fit, we’ll help you figure that out in a conversation.

  • Gold-Level: Owners, CEOs, and Presidents of companies with 100+ employees or $40M+ in revenue. High-stakes, high-growth leadership with no room for playing small.
  • Silver-Level: Leaders of companies with 25–99 employees or $20M+ in revenue. For those scaling fast and looking for sharper strategy, clarity, and control.
  • Bronze-Level: Established small business owners who are ready to lead the business—not get buried in it.

Frequently asked questions

If you don't find the answer you are looking for, please reach out!

  • Why do these peer groups work?

    • We use frameworks forged in the trenches—not fads or flavor-of-the-month advice.
    • Every session is built on dialogue, not passive consumption.
    • You’ll experience purposeful challenge—not performance theater.
    • We connect the dots between how you think, who you’re being, and what you’re doing—because that’s where real transformation happens.
  • What happens during a typical meeting?

Each session is structured, but never scripted. We open with real check-ins—what’s happening in your business and your life. Then we dive into a leadership concept designed to stretch your thinking. The heart of the session? A Socratic-style issue processing conversation where your peers help you see what you can’t see alone.

  • How often do groups meet?

Monthly. Same day, same time. Year-round, with a summer break. Because trust and traction come from rhythm.

  • What's expected of me?

Come prepared. Your facilitator shares an agenda in advance—but your insight starts with your openness. The more you bring, the more you get. This isn’t passive learning. This is participatory growth.

  • Is there a set curriculum?

Nope. This is not a course. It’s a living, evolving experience built around what matters most to the members in the room. We use proven frameworks—but we don’t follow a script.

  • Are groups industry-specific?

Not at all. And that’s intentional. We create cross-industry groups with a strict non-compete policy. The diversity sparks unexpected insight—and keeps the echo chamber out.

  • How is Leadership TBD different from Vistage, YPO, or C-12?

Smaller groups. Sharper dialogue. No filler, no badges, no branding fluff. Leadership TBD is rooted in the Thayer legacy: deep leadership theory + boots-on-the-ground application. We don’t outsource facilitation. We don’t duck hard truths. And we don’t confuse activity for growth.

  • What's the cost?

Participation is an investment — one that’s often outweighed many times over by the negative outcomes you prevent: costly missteps, stalled growth, leadership blind spots, and missed opportunities.  Details are discussed privately once we confirm fit and group level.

Meet Joelle Thayer

Joelle Thayer is the founder of Leadership TBD and the sole protégé of Dr. Lee Thayer, whose work reshaped how serious leadership is understood, taught, and performed. She brings that legacy forward—sharpened by her own 30+ years as an executive, entrepreneur, educator, and facilitator of complex conversations.

Joelle doesn’t lead from theory. She leads from earned insight—and she curates rooms with the same standard. Every peer group is hand-built to ensure that who’s in the room elevates everyone else inside it.

Clients describe her as energizing, direct, and deeply committed to truth over comfort. She’s not here to affirm your current path—she’s here to challenge your next one.

“You don’t need another guru. You need a sharper circle, and someone who won’t let that circle get soft. That’s my role.” — Joelle
